Hi,
Last time on XP, I can simply plug out my USB to answer a call and connect back and everything works fine.
But on Vista now, I have to "F1" to disconnect the connection to answer the call. If I do not that do, MPE will hang.
And the worst thing is that when MPE hangs on any instantes in Vista, I cannot even kill the process in Task Manager. Instead, I have to force a shut down. When I mean force, I mean even when I call for shut down, I have to hit the power button my casing. Since Vista will continue to try to shut down that process to no avail.
Causing my next reboot having to warn me about windows not shutting down properly in my previous attempt.
Will there be any new release soon to make this more vista compatiable? |

MyPhoneExplorer works on many machines with Vista without problems. I have no Vista so its hard to find real bugs. |

No - i never would say that you are lie. I believe that you have problems. I wanted to tell you that your problem is more specific -> the most users have no problems with Vista. The next problem is that i have no Vista so i cannot try to reproduce it.
But you say it happens only on an incomimg Call - maybe it helps if you disable the callmonitor in the settings of MyPhoneExplorer. |

Yes FJ. I have disabled the call monitor always. So there is no call monitor that pop-up when there's an incoming call.
What I do now is that when there's an incoming call, I F1 to disconnect the phone. Then answer the call. When I'm done, I will F1 to reconnect to MPE.
The one problem that I find it fustrating is the fact that when MPE hangs for me, I cannot even kill the process. Having to force reboot. That's not very healthy for my OS actually.
I wonder if there's a program for me force kill a process even if it hangs this way as it does to MPE. |

Hmm, one more try:
set the option "stable connection". If this option is activated then all events of the phone are switched of (SMS-Alert will also disabled then) |

I am having excatly the same problem. i can connect to the phone just fine. but if i disconnect the phone from the cable MPE locks up and i cant terminate the program. (not even by using the task manager or shutting down the computer).
MPE : 1.6
OS : Vista Buisness UK
Phone : k750i
Is there any information i can provide to help u find the problem?
I could provide u with remote desktop access to my pc. (i can allso install any debugging/development tools u might need) |

funny thing is... when i check the debug.txt file the last thing MPE writes is "Port 1 wird geschlossen" (witch means as mutch as COM 1 is being closed)
so it seems that MPE does detect that the phone was removed and attempts to close the port. |

yeah correct. I tried with FMA too. Seems like Vista doesn't autodetect that the phone is disconnect and hence will NOT auto close the port for us. Causing the software to hang. |

I have a similar problem with Vista. I have the latest MPE (1.6.7), using Vista and whenever MPE hangs I am unable to kill the process in Task manager. I have to reboot my computer, which I otherwise do very seldom, to be able to restart MPE. As I don't want to close a number of documents etc. MPE stays unused for long periods, until I have the opportunity to reboot.
Barring a miracle and MPE suddenly never hangs, regardless of how I abuse it with hibernations and such, I wonder if anyone know a way of killing the process without restarting the computer? Or if a new version might address this situation..
