MyPhoneexplorer Client liest die SSid nicht mehr aus

Hallo,

ich glaube seit dem mein Handy Galaxy S9 ein Update auf Android 9 One UI Version 1.0 upgedatet hat, zeigt mir der Client immer Wlan verbunden mit unknown SSid an. Ich denke das es seit dem Update ist, kann es aber nicht 100% sagen.

Das ist natürlich blöd weil ich den Client jetzt nicht mehr automatisch starten lassen kann wenn ich nach Hause komme.

Unter Wlan zeigt das Gerät mir aber die richtige ssid an.

Hat jemand eine Idee was ich da machen kann. Ist echt nervig.

hatte ich auch. Leider muss man jetzt Standort aktivieren, sonst können viele Programme nicht mehr die SSID anzeigen.

Hallo Walter.

Stimmt nachdem ich den Standort Aktiviert habe zeigt der Client sofort die SSID an. Ist zwar nicht so toll aber vielen Dank für den Tip.

Hängt wohl damit zusammen, das die SSID ja auch zur Standortbestimmung verwendet werden kann (und das macht Google ja auch).
In dieser Hinsicht wurde einiges in Android 9 aka Pie verschlimmbessert...

Hi Walter:
I am suffering with this latest Android change too. What, exactly, do you mean by "turn on location"? I have the Android 9 Location on and yet, for any MPE client after 1.0.47, it says "Unknown SSID".

Can you please explain your solution suggestion more fully?

you must enable "location base services" in settings, since WLAN can be used as location approximation in Android (and Google uses WLAN SSID for this purpose to locate you). If this service is disabled, APPs will not be able to read the SSID (since location based services are disabled and you are not allowed to get the "location", even itś youw own WLAN).

Somehow this part was dropped from my previous message. I have Android settings Location on and have for years. Do you mean a different settings area?

maybe the mode for Location is wrong.
Under Settings => Swecurity & Location => Location =>

check if App is allowed for Location
check location accurancy (there maxbe a point for WLAN as addiitional location source)

Before I wander down this rabbit hole any further can you confirm for me that your MPE client (later than 1.0.47), running on Android 9, displays the SSID of your WiFi when open?

Any version of the MPE client I've installed since 1.0.47 does not even have the option in its settings (not Android settings) to select the SSID that should trigger it to start. Without being able to tell MPE which SSID to recognize it doesn't matter if it can see the current SSID.

you are right. MPE 1.0.62 only says that WLAN is active, but does not display the SSID any more. This thread was opened with MPE 1.0.47
But with latest client it works again to automatically start MyPhoneExplorer if connected from WLAN (probably from any WLAN, but you should have set a WLAN PIN anyway).

Are you saying that your client 1.0.62 has an option in its settings to select which SSID should trigger an auto-start? If so, I'll install it.

Latest version of MPE has no explicit option for auto start.

If MPE is started on PC and it tries to connect over WLAN, MPE client starts on the mobile phone automatically. But there is no selection to set a specific SSID. I think, that there is now a small part running all time, at least MPE is allowed to be run at startup.
I just tried it out and rebootet my phone, just entered the SIM pins and then started MPE on Windows. Connection was working.

What does this mean? When I reboot my Galaxy S9+ I just have to enter the PIN to get in Android and see my home screen. My cell connection icon appears shortly with strength and then the type of data connection (3G, 4G, LTE). Then it will look and see if it's in one of my registered regular locations to be on WiFi. If so, turns on WiFi and sees my home SSID and connects.

Are you say that's all that's needed or is there something different between Canadian cell networks and where you are? Where is Wien?

Wien is Vienna in Austria,do not forget main language here is german.

I just wanted to say, that I have to do nothing on my mobile phone to get MPE connected from Windows (that was why I rebooted to have histroy cleared). The only thing you need for MPE is a connected WIFI. MPE client on Android will start automatically on connection from Windows (a small part of MPE is running since system startup). No explicit start of MPE client is needed.

I just upgraded to 1.0.62, rebooted, watched it connect to cell service and then my home WiFi. Ran Windows MPE and it could not connect with the error

"Connection to phone could not be established: Failed to obtain the IP-address of the phone. SocketError: 10061 - Connection is forcefully rejected."

I think I need to see the other settings you have so I can compare them with mine. I wish I could paste a screen clip instead of type. Thought I saw an option for attachments somewhere but I can see anything on the screen I'm in now.

I appreciate your help in getting this sorted out.

when you start the MPE client on the phone one time, does it ask, if it can start at boot time? I can remember that I had one time that kind of question about 1 month ago. Before that, I had to start MPE manually on the phone.

could you check the permissions of the APP (select all in the menu, not only the main). There should be one like "execute on startup".

Mir ist eigentlich nichts davon bekannt, dass der Client (jedenfalls nicht ab Clientversion 1.0.55) auf dem Handy automatisch, ohne zusätzliche Apps (Tasker, Llama oder Automagic) nach dem Booten, gestartet werden kann ?!

Der halbautomatische Start des Clients bei einem Zugriff vom Hauptprogramm erfolgt über einen Pushbefehl unter folgenden Voraussetzungen:
1. Die Berechtigung "Telefon" muß bei der App "Google Play-Dienste" aktiviert sein
2. Bei einer installierten Firewall auf dem PC müssen folgende Ports offen sein:
80, 443, 49000
3. Der Client muß nur einmal manuell gestartet und verbunden werden

Ich habe ein Xiaomi mit Android One (Pie, April 2019 Patches). Nach einem Reboot kann MPE sich ohne weitere Aktionen mit dem Handy verbinden, ich muss also nichts machen (auch nicht einmalig starten). Version von MPE Client 1.0.62. Telefon ist nicht gerootet.
Automagic habe ich laufen, da wird aber nichts bezuüglich MPE gemacht, nur WLAN an/aus.
Allerdings hat bei mir MPE Client die Berechtigung, direkt mit dem System zu starten (also ohne Userinteraktion).
Meinst du das einmalige Starten von MPE Client wirklich einmalig, oder einmalig nach jedem Reboot des Handys?

Ok, das Verbinden kann ja erst nach einem Start des MPE-Clients erfolgen.
Dieser Start wird bei Bedarf über den Pushbefehl realisiert.
Vielleicht habe ich die Übersetzung ins Deutsche oder Deiner Aussage von der Genehmigung des automatischem Start des Clients nur falsch interpretiert ?!

Daher noch einmal die konkrete Frage:
Wird nach einem Handy-Neustart der MPE-Client automatisch gestartet?
Das ist beim Client 1.0.47 möglich, da dieser den Start nach der Erkennung des eigenen WLan's noch realisieren kann.

Ein einmaliger manueller Start ist nur nach einer Neuinstallation des Clients nötig (Nicht nach einem Update und auch nicht nach einem Reboot des Handys)

ok, ich habe sicher schon öfters den MPE client manuell gestartet (nach der Installation). Wenn dieses einmal reicht und dies nicht durch einen Reboot rückgesetzt wird, dann ist dadurch alles gelöst.
