I have a lot of conversations that have been deleted on my phone but still show in MPE. They also can't be deleted from MPE because when I try, it sees that the message does not exist on the phone and so errors out.
Thoughts? |

@WaynesWhirled
Please use MPE => Conversation => Blue Arrow (Download entire) |

The problem is that MPE won't delete the conversations within MPE that are already deleted on my phone. It's like it is only does a one-way sync. |

I'm not trying to delete phone messages from within MPE; the messages have already been DELETED from my phone, but still show up in MPE and MPE itself will not let me delete them. |

Yes I did. It connected, downloaded and imported all messages from my phone (which were already in MPE anyway) and did NOT delete the messages from MPE that are no longer in my phone. MPE still shows old conversations that were deleted from my phone long ago. |

1. Quit MPE
2. Delete the file Messages.dat in your MPE database
3. Start MPE
4. Use MPE => Conversation => Blue Arrow (Download entire) |

Thanks again for the further suggestion, and I now have more information. Here is what I did:
1. Fresh boot.
2. Made sure MPE was NOT running.
3. Deleted the messages.dat file under the AppData/Roaming/MyPhoneExplorer directory. This is also the only file with that name on my machine.
4. When I then start MPE, the messages that are still on my phone are gone (and can be restored with your "Download All" suggestion), but there are STILL messages in MPE (all dated many months back and before) that are NO LONGER on my phone. This implies that these messages are stored somewhere other than in the MESSAGES.DAT file.
This is a bit of a tough one! I also want to say that I DO thank you for your help! |

Probably in the SMS.dat , in the same directory |

Good lord I should have noticed that, especially since the datestamp on the SMS.dat file corresponds with the older messages that kept showing up.
Problem fixed; thanks! |
