Hi! I seem to be having a strange problem. I have 2 devices, a Google Pixel phone and an ASUS 10" tablet. They have both worked fine in the past to sync contacts.
Today, the phone worked without a problem as usual, but the tablet is giving me an error: "Loading entries from Outlook failed!". I find this strange since it just loaded the entries just fine to sync the phone! So perhaps the error message is not correct.
But no matter what, I cannot sync anymore on the tablet. I have the same result over the USB cable or WiFi.
Any ideas appreciated as to why it gives this error only on the tablet!

Hi Greg,
I am also experiencing the same problem, but I believe mine boils down to a simple bug, that I was also hoping would be fixed with the update (but wasn't). I have been documenting my problems in another thread in this forum.
My problem seems to be that the MPE .dll file Outlook is asking for is invalid. I am seeing the same message you are getting from MPE about Outlook entries failing to load whenever I try to sync the entries.
<sigh> With no response from any of the developers... I just keep plugging away, duplicating entries into Outlook by hand, checking the forum, and hoping! |

Well, I'm glad it isn't just me!
But what I find strange is that it works on my phone but not on my tablet, so if the bug is in the Windows code why will it only work on one and not the other?

Since I'm only trying to get it synced on my phone, you're one up on me. At least one of yours is working the way it's supposed to! |

I am still having this problem and haven't been able to sync anything forever now but there is no response or workaround or anything. |

Ok, someone posted a possible culprit & fix in the other thread, so try this - Open MPE, go to File, Settings, Sync. When you get to the "sync" menu, select "advanced" next to "contacts" (yes, contacts, not events and tasks). Under the first box of selections ("Outlook folders to syncronise"), there is an option to check a box labeled "Use Outlook Add In". Make sure that box is checked.
Don't ask why, it seems to be working for me even though I don't have it set up to syncronise anything but the events (for the calendar). If that box isn't checked, it won't sync at all.
One word of caution - that box seems to "uncheck" itself without rhyme, reason, or warning. So when my calendar won't sync, or MPE locks up, I have to go in to the task manager, manually exit the program, restart it and get to that check box again (and every time it has quit syncing, that box has mysteriously unchecked itself).
Good luck with it! |

I realized when I got home and took a look that I have never used the adapter and I prefer not to use it as it causes issues within Outlook and makes things unstable.
I did manage to get it up and running through but it involved a lot shenanigans that I won't go into but it is working, let's hope it is a while before it breaks again. Thank you. |

Thankfully, I've never had any issues with it causing problems with Outlook. At least you have it working now. Yay! |

Well, I spoke too soon. The "fix" worked until last night. Now I'm right back to the same issue - when I hit the sync button, MPE locks up/freezes. I have to use the task manager to force it closed. It will sync any changes made on the MPE and phone calendars to/from the phone and into MPE itself, but not to/with Outlook, even after making sure the checkbox for "use Outlook add in" is checked. It's even freezing/locking up once I open the settings box - the only way to exit from there is by forcing it closed via the task manager! <sigh> This is really getting irritating and frustrating!!
EDIT 2/22 - And we're backsliding even further. Now when I hit the sync button, the "please wait" box shows up, the progress bar moves to about the halfway point, then the main screen goes blank and slowly refreshes/repopulates itself, all the while the "please wait" box remains. And then it all just stops right there. Back to "Control-Alt-Delete" to terminate the program.
So, now I am right back to square one - NO communication between MPE and Outlook to sync calendars, meaning I have to enter everything twice - once into MPE to make sure it's on the phone calendar, and again into Outlook. grrrrr....
EDIT 3/08 Denigrating further, now when I go in to select the "use Outlook" check box under syncronize, and hit "ok", the MPE desktop locks up (as previously noted above during syncronization). I have to do C-A-D to shut it down - it will not even "hold" the checked selection to use the Outlook add-in. And no, it still will not sync with Outlook - continues to "freeze" in mid-sync. |
