Problem navigating through folders

For a few versions now, if I select the “View Folders” option on the Files tab:

And I try to navigate through the folders by selecting (double xxx) in the left area (1) but the focus folder (2) is not changed, double xxx on the left folder area does nothing.

I now have a fairly large folder tree, and it's very inconvenient to scroll through the right-hand area.
Is this an error in MPE, my phone (Samsung S23+), or my settings? I haven't found anything about it online or in this forum.

Thanks for the nightly update, but sorry, it's still the same.
When I try to expand folders, they don't open on the screen on the left.
