Long SMS not saved anymore

Hello,
I'm using version 1.8.12 with Win 10 and it has been working fine since years and until the very beginning of September 2025.

But today, I tried to save the new SMS (received and sent since the 4th of September) and while everything seemed to work fine, I noticed that all the long SMS (pure text) are missing in the app after synchronization, which was not the case previously (I still can read them on the (Android) phone).

To be accurate: if I check the save file I made on the 4th of September on my PC, all the long SMS are there, but in the new file, they're not!

An example of "long" SMS would be around 5000 car. (yes, Im' writing big SMS).

I'm puzzled...

Which MPE client version is installed on your phone?
Which Android version is on your phone?

4.2 and 15 respectively (I'm not sure it has changed since the 4th of September though).
Oh, and and One UI 7.0.

Maybe the message was converted to a RCS-message because of the length. RCS messages cannot be read with MyPhoneExplorer because there is currently no API to access them.

Thank you for the quick answer.
And as everything was working fine before September, you think there have been changes beginning of the month regarding the RCS system?
Anyhow, does tat mean that when an API is out, MPE will be able to handle long SMS?

You should deactivate the chat function on your phone, then the messenger can no longer automatically convert long SMS messages to RCS. Disabling Wi-Fi and mobile data is also possible, since RCS messages can only be transmitted over the internet. Unfortunately, you can't influence reception anyway, since the sender is responsible for the format.

Yes, that's right, but it's unlikely that it will be made available to us?!

Hello, I just checked and the RCS function was disabled already, so the issue must lay elsewhere (as even my own long messages are not exportable/downloadable on PC).

Sorry, but you're using the 6-year-old MPE version 1.8.12. I have no idea why it worked before. However, I suspect that your cell phone provider may have changed their SMS policy. This means that previously, long SMS messages were automatically split into smaller pieces, and that no longer works.

I just did the installations.
The long messages are now possible to export/save, which allowed me to save important messages!

But a new issue has appeared: messages including a picture are now not exported anymore (before that the text was exported).
