Hi,
Please take into account that Outlook does not allow more than 255 chars for subject in appointments, but Android calendars allow for more. Either
- add an option to advert the user when subject in appointments is too long to sync with Outlook
- or add a feature (may be enabled in config file or options) to add the appointment subject to the beginning of the description/notes, so that no data loss happens.
Thanks. |

Synchronization from the mobile phone to MPE should work correctly even with more than 240 characters. When syncing with Outlook, a synchronization conflict occurs, meaning the difference remains even after the sync and is displayed again the next time you synchronize. Transferring to Outlook isn't possible, but the program could take the difference into account if it were ignored. If I understood you correctly, that's not what you want however? |

I don't quite get what you mean by the synchronization conflict and the .
Although I believe that on occasions I HAVE managed to keep subjects of more than 255 characters, (which M$ tech reports as a "hard limit"), I have experienced the loss of data in appointments , when the appointments are created on the phone and afterwards synced to desktop outlook.
I did try to create appointments with less than 255 chars in subject in Outlook for desktop, instead of creating them on the phone; then syncing them to mobile, and afterwards updating the subject to > 255 on Android, and I still had the same problem after syncing.
As for the fact that "the difference remains even after the sync and is displayed again the next time you synchronize", or that "the program could take the difference into account if it were ignored"... that is, updating the appointments "with patches" considering changes, I did not experience that.
In any case, I think that the option to advert the user would be an easy safeguard to implement. |

| Yes, that's right. I'm afraid I don't know why my test always showed a difference (synchronization conflict). In any case, I can't reproduce it at the moment. I'll forward your request to FJ. |
