weird bug

Hi!
GREAT SOFTWARE!!! Now, I found this strange bug. I use Z530i, TB 2.0.0.6, Lightning 0.7pre RC2 (the latest), winxp and the latest MPE add-on.
When I connect the phone trough the USB cable, I can sync everything (SMS, contacts, calls) except for the Lighting calendar. Well, what happens is that initially I cannot. Then, after a few (2-3) disconnect-connect commands I can sync my calendars. Then I add a new item to Lightning and again, the sync ability is gone until I reconnect a few times.
Anyone else has seen that? Any way to fix it?

1) Do you have thunderbird running while you try to sync with MPE? Lightning, especially when used with network calendars, has a much too long startup time; the sync will fail because the calendars are not ready yet.

2) If you get syncing problems even when thunderbird is open during the sync, please check the Javascript error console for entries and post them here.

3) Please upgrade to the newest version of the addon. Until FJ includes it in the next MPE-version, it is available here:

2- yes. TB is open during syncing- how do I turn the java console on to get the error messages?

3- I did upgrade but get the same error

So, to get the sync working I have to do the following:
- disconnect the phone from the cable, reconnect, disconnect in MPE, reconnect and then do Calendar sync. Then it works.

You don't need to turn it on - just open error console under the extras menu.

Sorry, I must be more clear: I didn't want the logfile from MPE; I need the error messages from thunderbird! Please check the error console of thunderbirds extras-menu after a failed sync.

Something is wrong here. What kind of calendars are you using?

Open a command line window, change into the thunderbird program directory and execute the following command:

thunderbird -mpe list-calendars=c:\cals.txt

If all goes well, you should get a file c:\cals.txt listing your lightning calendars. Please post it here. If the file is not created or contains no entries, please check the javascript error console again.

If you only have one calendar, I would be interested to take a look at its contents; you seem to have strange entries in there (an event without an enddate should not be possible!). You could export it as an ICS-File and mail it to me.

You can export your calendar via Lightning:
- go to the calendar menu in Thunderbird
- choose "export calendar"
- choose the calendar to export (you have only one, so this is easy Wink

)
- enter a filename and (important!) choose iCalendar ics as export format.

Don't post this file, please mail it to me.
