Hi,
I have the same problem with contact pictures.
If I set a contact photo on the phone or in Outlook, MPE does not sync it to the other side. I mean, If I set it on the phone, it does not appear in Oulook, except a black square. I have the same in MPE.
When I set it in Oulook, it does not get to the phone. A grey square gets visible on the phone, which says for me that something was synced, but it is not the actual picture.
Also, when I sync the photo, it deletes the birthday of the contact.
I can set contact photo on the phone, so it handles the contact pictues.
Please advise. Thanks! |

If this is the only change on this contact, mpe doesn't recognize the change. You have to change at least one other field or use right click -- force as edited.

Yes, I did. I made changes, so it should have been transferred to the phone. Actually the change itself is transferred, except the contact picture. And the other effect is that when I modify the contact picture, MPE deletes the birthday of the contact on both the phone and in Outlook.

OK, sorry about that. I thought there may be users who had the same problem. |

I have the opposite problem. I have assigned a load of contact pictures on my phone, and I want them to go back into Outlook. However, as no other fields have changed there is nothing to sync. I tried using the 'force as edited' option in the MPE interface, but this didn't do anything.
Is there something I'm missing? How can I get the contact pictures from my phone transferred into Outlook?
I an using an HTC Desire HD, MPE 1.8.1 and Outlook 2003. |

Hmm - you have to make a slight change in the contacts of Outlook (f.e. some dummy chars into contactnote). Then set the sync to "Force phone->Outlook" and then sync |

That works. However, I have several hundred contacts and it would be a right pain to go through and do this for all the ones I have set a photo for... and virtually impossible to keep up to date when further photos are added in the future.
It would be great if there were a way of making this happen automatically (i.e. if phone has photo and Outlook doesn't, to recognise that the contact is dirty and in need of synching). |
