Hello All,
one of the first things i noticed with my new phone is the inability to store a birth date with a persons details. I understand that this is a phone issue and not an MPE one. I "backed up" my K770 data and "restored" it to my X10 Mini Pro and thankfully the birthdays are there. Is this data still linked together (Phone entry and Birthdate) in MPE or it is now no longer so?
- X10 Mini Pro, U20i, FW 1.6, Kernal 2.6.29, Build 1.2.A.1.174
- WiFi
- MPE 1.8.0
- WinXP Pro SP3 |

The data are not linked cause its not possible to save the birthday to the contact in the phone. But soon Android 2.1 is released for the X10 and in 2.1 there is a birthday-field in contacts. |

Hi,
I have a similar issue. My LG GT540 Optimus running Android 1.6 has a birthday field in contacts. However, birthdays are not transferred from Thunderbird/Lightning to the phone and, even worse, birthdays entered on the phone are deleted by MyPhoneExplorer upon sync.
Any ideas?
Greetings
dupondt
PS: Otherwise MyPhoneExplorer works fine with the GT540 - great piece of software! |

Pity they left this out for the X10 Mini Pro |

There is no birthday-field in Android 1.6, maybe this is a special build on the GT540. I cannot adapt MyPhoneExplorer to every tiny little customation of the diffrent models. Is there an update to Android 2.x available for the GT540 ? |

That goes without saying. I was just wondering why the content of the birthday fields is deleted although the field is not supported.

According to LG 2.1 is about to be released.

Hi All,
I have birthdays set for my Outlook contacts. I use MyPhoneExplorer to sync my contacts, I don't use the Google cloud.
I noticed 2 things that bothers me a lot:
1. If I set a picture to my contact in Outlook, it does not sync to my phone.
If I set it on the phone, it also does not sync back to my computer, instead a black rectangle is shown as my contact photo.
2. Secondly, If I set the picture for a contact in Outlook, it deletes the birthday from the phone and from Outlook as well. So, in case a birthday is set in outlook (and even on the phone) and I set a contact photo, it deletes the birthday.
- Model of phone: Commtiva Z71
- Type of connection: WiFi
- MPE-version: 1.8.0
- Windows version: Win7
- Android version: 2.1
- Outlook: 2007
Do you have any idea for the above?
Thanks in advance! |

1) The contactpicture if not compared on sync and it gets only transfered to phone when there is no picture set in the phone.
2) Which Client-Version you are using ? Please try this behavior without syncing Outlook, just using MPE. |

I'm using the latest client both oth phone and for Windows.
The Windows MPE version is 1.8.0.
When a contact picture is set for a contact that has never ever had a contact photo, only a black rectangle appears in MPE.
How may I assist you in troubleshooting?
Thanks. |

Birthday syncing is ok for me as well. It is only stange, when I add a contact picture, MPE deleted the birthday of the contact.
Also I have issues with contact pictures. How is it working for you? I'm using MPE + Outlook (no Google cloud).
BTW, I have 2.1 on my phone. (Commtiva Z71)
Thanks. |

I'm using Thunderbird and MPE obviously doesn't sync pictures from TB's address book either (doesn't bother me as I don't care about photos in contacts). If I add a picture in MPE itself, MPE transfers it to my phone without emptying the birthday field.

Hi dupondt,
Thanks for your feedback. I've just gave it a try and unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I added the contact photo in MPE and also added a note to help me track the process and see if the note goes through. Well, it did... the note managed to get into Outlook and also to my phone, but the contact photo didn't. The photo did't get to my phone neither to Outlook.
Actually, it seems that something went to my phone as I can remove a photo from my contact, but it is nothing... so seemingly something is there as it could be removed, but nothing is actually visible.
And again... I lost my the birthday of my contact when I removed that "nothing" image.
Uhh... it is pretty hard to describe this thing... I hope you could understand. Please ask if further clarification is needed.
Thanks a lot! |

Hi,
Did you manage to take a look at my 'issue'?
Windows Client version is 1.8.0, Android Client version is 1.0.6.
Thanks! |
