Wrong Thread. Read the FAQ first and if it still does not work then create a new thread |

Bluetooth doesn't work for HTC Wildfire S? Client and MPE started, phone is listening, but MPE can't find the phone. Windows is able to send files to the phone.
Thanks a lot.

Please read the FAQ first.
- first run the Client on phone
- then pair the phone (if already paired then pair again)
Did you do it this way ? |

Sure. I started the client on the phone. It's listening; bluetooth turned on. Also on the phone I turned on the option 'can be found' (publishing 120 seconds the id of the phone).
The phone is paired with the computer (WinXP Pro SP3). I am able to send files from computer to phone via bluetooth.
However, when I start MPE and press F1, the following error is raised: "Connection to the phone could not be established: Telefoon kan niet worden geidentificeerd".
It makes no difference what comm. setting I apply:
- Bluetooth (COM6 Bluetooth-modem)
- Bluetooth (COM5 Bluetooth-communicatiepoort)
- Auto detect
Thanks a lot for your help. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Solved!
I did the following on my computer:
1. Right mouse click on bluetooth icon in system tray - "Bluetooth Configuration".
2. In tab "Communications Port" I found only one entry "COM5 - Inbound". This is strange I thought; why is there no Outbound?
3. I pressed button "Add Outbound". "COM7 - Outbound" was added.
4. I opened the Bluetooth Configuration Panel of the paired phone. Right mouse click on system tray icon - Bluetooth Deviced - MyPhone. Now I discovered something new. In the past I had only two Connect buttons; one for "Headset and Speakerphone" and one for "Music and Audio". Now I had a third one "Personal Network and Communication", with subtitle "Connect to Serial Port - MyPhoneExplorer". I pressed this new Connect button, and Voila, COM8 - Outbound communication port was added and now MPE could connect!
I wondered why:
a) I first needed to install an outbound port myself (COM7);
b) On Connect again a new outbound port (COM8) was created.
5. I deleted the COM7 outbound; COM8 remained.
6. I tried to connect MPE again. It still works.
I am satisfied. |
