Notes won't sync - cannot find Outlook notes folder

Hi,

I am currently trialling MPE 1.8.2 because it syncs Outlook notes and tasks.

However I have been unable to sync my notes. Contacts, calendar and tasks are synchronising

I initially set my Sync settings to "Outlook XP" for Contacts, Calendar and Notes.



On trying to sync notes I got this error message:

"Loading entries from outlook failed!"



I then went into Settings-->Sync-->Notes to check the folder settings and before I could change anything got this error message:

"Folder structure from Outlook could not be listed!"



As you can see the Outlook Folder to Synchronise field is blank. However I cannot change because as soon as I dismiss the error message the settings screen closes.

Looking at the log file it advised me to close and restart Outlook, which I did. No change.

I have 523 notes in 18 Outlook categories, ranging from 3 to 100 notes per categories.

As far as I am aware my notes are in the same folder as my contacts and calendar.

Any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem?

Run MyPhoneExplorer with Admin-Access and if it does not help then post the logfile after the errormessage

Thank you for your reply and my apologies for taking so long - have been unwell.

My Win XP account I am using is an administrator account. However to double check this, I created a new administrator account, added some calendar entries, a contact, a task and a note to a new Outlook account. I then connected my device and used MyPhoneExplorer. There were no problems at all and the notes transferred successfully.

Back on my own account, I'm still having the same problem and the log file is below. Please note that MPE is able to read the Outlook folder structure for calendar, contacts and tasks successfully - just not notes.

I have examined my Outlook Personal Folders structure and simplified it (there were old subfolders created by Nortons AV and Pocket Mirror, which I removed) but that didn't make any difference.

I have also run the Outlook folder repair tool, scanpst.exe, but still no difference.

Another thing I could try is to export all my Outlook data to a new Personal Folder and see whether that cleans it up, but if you have any other suggestions that would be good.

Hooray!

Managed to fix my problem.

In Outlook I used

Code: Alles auswählen

File > Import and Export > Export to a File > Personal Folder File

then I selected the top level folder and checked "Include Subfolders", leaving the filter blank.
Selected "Replace duplicated with items exported" and accepted the default file name backup.pst.

The backup.pst was much smaller than the original.

After the export I renamed outlook.pst to old_outlook.pst and backup.pst to outlook.pst. Upon Outlook startup I accepted the option to recreate my shortcuts.

All the data seems OK and MPE had no problems.

So finally I can start using my Android phone as I have my data transferred to it. Bye bye Nokia N97....

Samsung GT-S5570 - Android Gingerbread- Windows xp - outlook 2007.

Good Morning; in my "environment" all works correclty, with the execption on syn note; the configurazione of MyPhone Explorer and during sync the system show me (correctly) the operations that it is going to process. When I clik OK, all seem work correctly, but non sync in either direction! Any suggestion?

OK, in effect it works correctly with MPE, thanks; just to suggest (in the MPE appl) to implement a "find" function and a "sort by".
