Contacts list on SIM not visible in MyPhoneExplorer

having just migrated from a SonyEricsson W800i to a Samsung Galaxy S II MyPhoneExplorer now does not show any contacts; although the contacts list stored on the transferred SIM can be read in the phone! I've tried sync'ing the programme to the phone with no luck. The 'Contacts' folder on MyPhoneExplorer only shows 'Phone' and not 'SIM' as well, like it did with the SonyEricsson connected.
Ant ideas?
