When synchronizing between Outlook and phone I often use the alternative "Never sync this entry in the future". There seems to be a limit in how many such items you can mark. I had 243 of these in my settings.dat, [OutlookCustomCalendarExeptions] section. It looks like this list is never reviewed, i.e. when items disappear from Outlook they're still listed in settings.dat.
After removing all items in the list and re-sync the phone everything works as expected again.

Hi Ingemar,
I have a similar problem in that my sync still comes up with hundreds of items - all from years ago that I don't want to sync - and I spend ages xxx on 'never sync this entry in future' thinking that I will never see them again, and they come up at the next sync!
Forgive me for being thick, but how do you get to the settings.dat and the OutlookCustonCalendarExceptions?
Thanks,
Kyle |

Hi Kyle,
You'll find the file in directory %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\MyPhoneExplorer\<your phone>\settings.dat (at least in the ancient Win XP ).
Stop MPE and edit settings.dat with a text editor (it's a text file).
The last section the file is [OutlookCustomCalendarExeptions] section. Remove all the lines with hex numbers (a couple hundreds) and save the file. Start MPE and sync. This time you'll have to repeat "Never sync ..." for those you don't want to sync.
Next sync will work as you expect.
BR,
Ingemar |

Yes, this is a known problem. But instead of editing the *.dat-Files its much easier to delete the Exceptions via Menu-File-Settings-Sync-Calendar-Advanced-Filter |

I have over 500 contacts in my Thunderbird address book, and want about fifty of those on my phone. Having patiently worked through them all marking most contacts as exceptions I find that MyPhoneExplorer loses all but the first 2-300 exceptions. Are there any plans to increase this limit? |

I have 10 birthdays so far in my calendar. I don't want to synchronize them. Five of them are always showing in sync even though I always select "never sync". I've done filter reset twice, didn't help. What can I do? |

They are in phone, I don't want to let them in Outlook. For one, MPE wants to add it to OUTLOOK, for another two MPE wants to delete them from phone. I guess they were in outlook sometime. However, I've managed to fix this by deleting contacts which were making the problem and creating them again. Now it's ok. |
