I just bought a new Razr Maxx and sync'd my Contacts, Calendar and Notes with Outlook using MPE. That part worked great!!
What doesn't seem to be happening is for the phone to sync the Contacts with Google's Gmail server. I have the Sync Contacts option turned on in the phone and if I manually enter a new contact directly into the phone, it properly detects it and syncs it, but when I add one or all of the contacts from Outlook, it doesn't seem to be detecting any change and therefore doesn't sync back to the Gmail server.
Is this behaviour by design (Outlook and GMail contacts shall remain separate), or have I missed an important step or failed to enable an option?
You can change the setting "Add new contacts to..." in MyPhoneExplorer Client on the phone
